ShareAR

Secure and Private AR Sharing Toolkit

ShareAR is a developer toolkit for secure and private content sharing in augmented reality or mixed reality. Our goal is to make it easy to build fully functional multi-user AR apps that also respect users' security and privacy needs.

For example, let's suppose you're building an app that lets users create virtual art and place it around the world. You want to allow other users to see a user's art but not vandalize it, and you want to prevent a user from filling a common space with offensive content that other users can't remove or otherwise clear from their field of view. Rather than building a permission matrix or an offer/accept sharing flow from scratch, simply connect up your app code and virtual models to the ShareAR system and call the ShareAR API.

Important!

ShareAR is a research project, which we have released for beta-testing and community evaluation. Though ShareAR aims to provide the security properties described below, this beta version may contain bugs or other errors.

Please use ShareAR with caution.

And please give us feedback!

You can read about our design goals and our solution in the research paper (available here), and then try it out and help us improve it!
